Recently, the Minister for Power directed the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission to ensure the optimum performance of the electricity Distribution Companies (DisCos) or face the sack. This is more or less asking NERC to enforce the Eligible Customer & Meter Asset Provider Regulations. However, the Minister has also introduced the issue of Competitive Transition Charges as a master stroke.
