I feel proud and honoured to be invited to mentor and encourage newly appointed School Prefects in my alma mater, Ilupeju Secondary School, Ilupeju, Lagos.
32 years ago, I was in their shoes, and I spoke on how the vision and focus we had then led to the realization of today, and more….

You too can give back to humanity. You probably are doing so. Please share your thoughts and ideas.

It’s very important to give back to the community, it a source of inspiration to other and also a show of gratitude. Only few people engaged in. God bless you for your efforts
It is . Thanks
My own story of giving back to the community.
In 2019, I initiated efforts to address the issue of sluggish and unreliable network connectivity in my village. Utilizing my strong communication skills, I successfully engaged and persuade the service providers to upgrade our network to 3G, significantly enhancing communication and connectivity for our community. My commitment to progress compelled me to persist in advocating for a 4G network to further elevate our quality of life. This have opened alot of opportunities to engaged our youths in digital/online businesses as the digital era continue to evolve and integrate in to so many sectors of our lives.
Acknowledging the potency of collective action, I established an association to channel our community’s needs and aspirations. As a secretary-general, I sent requests to some governmental and non-governmental organizations, seeking intervention in the fields of education, ICT, and healthcare. Our dedication bore fruit when we attracted corporate socialt responsibility (CSR) funding from the National Communications Commission, enabling us to establish an ICT e-learning center in the village. I have currently taken the lead in developing sustainability framework for this facility.
My alma mater, a community school in my village, occupies a special place in my heart. I contribute by teaching Physics pro-bono and directing all allowances toward funding the Junior Engineers Technicians and Scientists (JETS) club. My mentorship extends to guiding students on the latest technologies, directing their efforts toward locally addressing critical global challenges such as energy access and climate change. Under my guidance, our students presented a Smart pyrolysis machine at the National JETS club’s competition. This achievement not only illuminated our village school but is also centered towards addressed the issue of plastic waste and climate change.
During my National Youth Service year, I identified the need for reliable electricity at the NYSC zonal office in Wuse, Abuja. My problem-solving skills were put to the test as I initiated a community development project to install a solar off-grid solution. With unwavering determination and a network of energy stakeholders, I secured the funds and led a team to implement this innovative solution, alleviating electricity poverty for thousands of staff, corp members, and visitors of the office. Additionally, I trained 12 local youths of the host community in solar installation, empowering them with valuable skills that may earn them a living.
My leadership and influencing capabilities have left an indelible mark on the lives of those I’ve touched, with determination and a vision, we can drive positive change in our communities and beyond.
Yours is indeed a life of giving nack. There is more happiness in giving than there is in receiving. We should advocate for sponsorships for most of your scientific efforts. Kudos sir.
