What benefits does this new initiative of mobile transformer has over the existing infrastructure.
If you lose a large power transformer supplying a large part of your state, rather than have prolonged power outage that can last many months, we simply drive down a mobile transformer to your state within few hours, hook up to the transmission or distribution line, and restore power supply. When your DisCo or TCN wishes to carry out routine maintenance, and they need to do so, instead of plunging you and several communities into prolonged darkness, we will simply arrange to have mobile substations supplying you during the period. If your village has never “seen the light” because it is yet to be connected to the national grid, we simply need to connect it to the nearest transmission or distribution network and supply you electricity.
Just imagine when we have many of these mobile transformers and mobile substations all over Nigeria.
It is faster to deploy, compact and take less space, almost “maintenance free” which saves you a lot of money on running cost (OPEX). It is an inrode to better or more laterly use of technology. Current substation technology is digital.
